Butterflies and a moth from Alaska
About this Drawer
Alaskan butterfly specimens, including a single moth (left unit tray, separated in middle) which was collected in Homer, Alaska, in 1911, by Wilbur S. McAlpine, who later went on to specialize in Michigan Lepidoptera. The W. S. McAlpine collection was donated to the Smithsonian Institution in 1972, so this specimen was likely sent to Dr. Philip as a loan at some point after that.
